Ugh, Jim Carrey, unless it’s for a movie, please just shut up! – I’m a huge fan of Jim Carrey’s work. I think he’s an extremely talented actor and comedian. I even cut him A LOT of slack by not mentioning him very often when criticizing his girlfriend, Jenny McCarthy, the Goebells of the antivaccine movement. Mainly it’s because he isn’t nearly as visible within the movement. Outside of last summer’s protest in Washington DC where he gave an embarrassingly ignorant speech that implicitly (if not explicitly) accused the CDC of deliberately poisoning our children:
“How stupid do you think we are?”
I tried to overlook it or write it off as him just getting sucked into his girlfriend’s cult because I like Jim. It’s kinda like how I hate Tom Cruise much more than Katie Holmes because she just got sucked into it because she was sleeping with Tom Cruise and probably didn’t want to screw that up.
But now not very surprisingly Dr. Carrey is, like Tom Cruise, chiming in on antidepressants too:
“I think Prozac and things like that are very valuable to people for short periods of time,” he said on the show. “But I believe if you’re on them for an extended period of time, you never get to the problem.”
What happened to this guy?
